TOY SOLDIER ART

Everyone is a Toy Soldier Collector,--- they just need that first one!

Welcome to the world of Toy Soldier Collecting!

Be forewarned --- it is hard to stop once you start. I have been involved in one form or another for the past forty years, progressing from playing with, painting, collecting, casting, research, and now operating a small business based upon toy soldiers.

Let me emphasize small business; I am owner and sole employee. For the most part, all figures are hand cast from metal (a combination of lead & tin). Next, all extra metal "flashing" is removed with a file and craft knife. Many of the figures require assembly and this often includes drilling, pinning & gluing, and filling gaps where necessary. The castings are cleaned with alcohol, air-dried and painted with a primer. After careful hand painting, all figures are sealed with a clear acrylic. This is a time consuming process and orders take 2 to 6 weeks to complete, depending upon the size of the order.

These figures are intended for collectors and are not recommended for children under 8 years of age. For one, if dropped, they can be bent out of shape or break. Some of the weaponry could cause harm if one were to be jabbed with it. Having lead as an ingredient is only a safety factor if the paint is chewed through to the metal and ingested. As I mentioned, the figures are sealed with a clear protective coating.

I hope you find something of interest on my listing, (which will be expanding rapidly) and please feel free to make inquiries about any figures you wish to collect as I am in the process of obtaining castings and figures from other sources.

Happy collecting and keep in touch,

Gary P. Phillips
